DE Shaw India Marks 30 Years in Hyderabad, Plans New Office

Global investment and technology firm DE Shaw Group’s Indian arm, D.E. Shaw India Private Limited, has completed 30 years of operations in India, marking the milestone with a special event at its Jubilee Hills office in Hyderabad. Telangana IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu attended the programme along with senior executives of the DE Shaw Group.

D.E. Shaw India began its India operations by setting up its first office in Hyderabad in 1996. The company subsequently expanded its presence to Bengaluru and Gurugram in 2023. Teams across the three cities now work with colleagues worldwide on technology development, research and operational services supporting the group’s global activities.

Eddie Fishman, Managing Director and Executive Committee member of DE Shaw Group, said Hyderabad had played a significant role in the company’s growth over the past three decades. He noted that the investment and technology sectors had undergone major changes during this period, while the expertise and disciplined approach of DE Shaw India employees had helped the company stay ahead.

The India teams have contributed to developing advanced data and computing infrastructure, AI-powered tools and technology systems used across the group’s global operations, Fishman said.

Minister Sridhar Babu congratulated DE Shaw India on completing 30 years in Hyderabad and praised its continued association with the city. He said the company’s decision to establish a new facility in Hyderabad reflected its confidence in the city’s technology and business ecosystem.

DE Shaw India is now preparing to establish a new office at Grava Business Park in Neopolis, Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art facility, scheduled to open in 2027, will cover more than 600,000 square feet. The workplace will be designed to promote collaboration between teams, encourage the exchange of ideas and support the development of solutions to complex challenges.

Chaitanya Gorrepati, Managing Director and Operating Committee member of DE Shaw India, said Hyderabad remained central to the company’s India journey even after three decades. He described the upcoming Grava Business Park facility as an important milestone that would support the company’s next phase of growth in India.

Founded in 1988, DE Shaw Group has offices across North America, Europe and Asia. As of September 1, 2026, the company had more than $115 billion in investment and committed capital. It has built a strong reputation in the investment sector through innovation, effective risk management and a highly skilled workforce.
