The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to host its first-ever DDA Green Expo 2026 on February 14 and 15 at Baansera Park , aiming to showcase sustainable urban development and climate-resilient planning across Indian cities.

The initiative draws inspiration from Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena’s efforts to rejuvenate the Yamuna floodplains through public green spaces such as Asita, Baansera, Vasudev Ghat and Yamuna Vatika , projects that have restored degraded floodplains while reconnecting Delhi residents with the river. The Expo is designed to transform these successful interventions into a national platform for innovation, collaboration, and scalable solutions in urban sustainability.

The two-day event will bring together policymakers, urban planners, international experts, researchers, industry stakeholders, civil society groups, and students to exchange ideas and explore best practices in nature-based solutions, urban greening, and climate-responsive infrastructure. It will feature exhibitions, live demonstrations, expert sessions, panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing opportunities, with several strategic partnerships and memorandums of understanding expected to be formalised to advance collaborative, sustainable urban development.

Addressing the Expo, Delhi Lieutenant Governor and DDA Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said, “Cities today must move beyond conventional growth models and place sustainability, resilience and citizen wellbeing at the core of development. The DDA Green Expo 2026 brings together policymakers, innovators, academia and citizens to advance collective action for cleaner, greener and more resilient cities.”

DDA Vice-Chairman N Saravana Kumar added, “The Green Expo reflects how the DDA is rethinking urban development to meet contemporary challenges. By showcasing practical, solutions-driven innovations in urban greening, landscape restoration, and sustainable infrastructure, we aim to accelerate the adoption of climate-responsive practices across Delhi.”

As the statutory planning and land-owning authority of the national capital, the DDA plays a central role in shaping Delhi’s urban landscape, infrastructure and environmental assets. The DDA Green Expo 2026 , by virtue of its scale and diversity of participation, marks a significant step toward environmentally responsible, people-centric and future-ready urban development in Delhi.

Established in 1957 under the Delhi Development Act , the Delhi Development Authority is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs , mandated to promote and secure the sustainable development of the capital.
