DC outclass RCB with dominant 7 wicket win, hand Bengaluru first loss of WPL 2026

Delhi Capitals delivered a statement performance on Saturday, defeating table toppers Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets in a Women’s Premier League match at the BCA Stadium, handing RCB their first defeat of the WPL 2026 season .

Opting to bat first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered a rare off day with the bat and were bowled out for just 109 in 20 overs, their lowest total of the tournament so far. Delhi’s bowlers maintained tight lines and relentless pressure, never allowing Bengaluru to settle.

Captain Smriti Mandhana stood tall amid the collapse, scoring 38 off 34 balls with six fours and a six. Her opening stand of 36 with Grace Harris gave RCB a steady start, but once Mandhana was dismissed, the innings unravelled quickly. From 62 for 1, Bengaluru slid to 78 for 5 and failed to recover, with eight batters falling for single digit scores.

Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack was led by Nandini Sharma , who finished with impressive figures of 3 for 26 to claim the Purple Cap. Marizanne Kapp provided excellent support with both ball and bat, helping dismantle RCB’s batting lineup.

In reply, Delhi Capitals chased the target with calm authority. Shafali Verma provided early momentum, while Laura Wolvaardt anchored the innings with maturity and precision, remaining unbeaten on 42.

Kapp added the finishing touches with an unbeaten 19, sealing the chase in 15.4 overs as Delhi reached 111 for 3. Kapp was named Player of the Match for her all round contribution.

The comprehensive victory lifts Delhi Capitals to second place on the points table and brings an end to Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s unbeaten run, marking their first loss of the WPL 2026 campaign .
