Davos 2025 Investment Agreements Now Under Implementation: CM

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu strongly showcased Andhra Pradesh’s development journey at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 currently underway in Davos . On the fourth day of the summit, he met Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran and stated that investment agreements signed during the 2025 Davos visit have already translated into projects worth ₹2.50 lakh crore , now under implementation across the state.

Reiterating his vision, the Chief Minister said his goal is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global brand by sustaining the confidence of international investors . He outlined the state’s industrial push, highlighting key initiatives in green energy , technology , artificial intelligence (AI) , agriculture and tourism .

Major projects, including large-scale solar power plants in Kurnool district , the TCS Development Centre in Visakhapatnam , and the prestigious ‘Quantum Valley’ R&D hubs in Amaravati , are set to reshape the state’s economic landscape, he said. Emphasising the importance of skill development , Mr. Naidu noted that focused investments in IT and AI sectors would unlock vast opportunities for the youth .

Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran praised the Andhra Pradesh government’s forward-looking approach and announced the appointment of special officers to monitor project implementation through the ‘Ratan Tata Innovation Hub’ . Responding to the Chief Minister’s request to accelerate tourism projects and the construction of sports cities , he assured full technical and management support from the Tata Group .

Referring to his three-day Davos visit , the Chief Minister said several global companies have shown keen interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. With an investor-friendly ecosystem and stable government policies , he expressed confidence that the state would soon emerge as a global investment hub . Once completed, these projects are expected to boost economic growth and generate employment for lakhs of youth .

Meanwhile, on the third day of the visit, Mr. Naidu held a series of meetings with leading industrialists . As part of this, he met ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman Lakshmi Mittal , during which a final decision was taken on setting up a major steel plant in Anakapalli district . The plant, with an initial investment of around ₹60,000 crore , is expected to be inaugurated after February 15 next month.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the required approvals for the project with officials in Mr. Mittal’s presence and directed them to complete land acquisition and clearances before the foundation stone-laying ceremony. He instructed Ministers Nara Lokesh and TG Bharat to take responsibility for expediting approvals, including approaching the Central government in New Delhi if necessary.
