Dasoju Sravan Accuses Revanth Reddy of Fear Over Khairatabad By-Election

BRS leader and MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar has alleged that Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is afraid of facing a by-election in the Khairatabad Assembly constituency.

In a series of posts on X on Sunday, Sravan alleged that Revanth Reddy was behind Congress MLA Danam Nagender’s decision to approach the Supreme Court following the recent High Court verdict.

Sravan recalled that Nagender had said after the High Court ruling that he would not move the Supreme Court and would instead resign and contest the Khairatabad seat again. However, the BRS leader questioned why Nagender approached the Supreme Court with a lunch-motion petition within 24 hours of making that statement.

He accused Nagender of contradicting his own public announcement and questioned whether it was fair to “mislead the people so openly”.

Sravan further alleged that Revanth Reddy was trying to avoid a by-election in Khairatabad because the Congress was apprehensive about facing voters in the constituency. He described the developments following the High Court verdict as an example of what he called “opportunistic politics”.

“If Revanth Reddy has faith in democracy and confidence in his government’s performance, he should face the by-election,” Sravan said, challenging the Chief Minister to accept the people’s verdict rather than using the Supreme Court proceedings to delay the process.

The BRS leader also claimed that his party would win the Khairatabad by-election irrespective of who the Congress fields as its candidate. He said the people would ultimately give the Congress an appropriate response through the ballot box.

The remarks come amid the continuing legal and political developments surrounding Danam Nagender and the Khairatabad Assembly seat, with the court proceedings potentially influencing the next course of action.
