CWG 2026 Medal Tally: India Finish Day 8 in 10th, Australia Crosses 100-Medal Mark

India ended Day 8 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 in 10th place on the medal table with a total of 17 medals, while Australia continued its commanding run at the top by becoming the first nation to cross the 100-medal mark.

India's tally now stands at three gold, 10 silver and four bronze medals, reflecting a campaign built largely on consistent podium finishes. Although the country has collected only three gold medals so far, its impressive haul of silver medals has helped it remain among the top 10 nations in the overall standings.

At the summit, Australia has been in a league of its own, amassing 110 medals, including 51 gold, 24 silver and 35 bronze, underlining its dominance across multiple sporting disciplines.

England occupied second place with 65 medals (15 gold, 30 silver and 20 bronze), while Canada remained third with 45 medals, matching England's 15 golds but finishing behind due to fewer silver medals.

Host nation Scotland enjoyed a strong campaign to stay fourth with 25 medals, followed by Nigeria, which rounded off the top five with 15 medals, powered by eight golds.

South Africa, Malaysia, New Zealand and Jamaica completed the positions ahead of India, with the medal race expected to intensify over the remaining days of competition.

Just behind India, Wales occupied 11th place with 18 medals, although it trailed India in the standings because of fewer gold and silver medals. Kenya, Northern Ireland, Jersey, Samoa, Cameroon, Dominica, Fiji, Cyprus and Uganda also featured among the leading nations on the medal table.

With several medal events still to come, India will be aiming to convert more opportunities into gold medals, which could significantly improve its position in the final stages of the Games.
