Chennai Super Kings have been dealt yet another setback in their IPL 2026 campaign, with pacer Ramakrishna Ghosh ruled out of the season after suffering a fractured right foot during their match against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk.

The injury occurred in the high intensity clash on Sunday, where CSK registered a commanding eight wicket win at home. Ghosh, who had shown promising control with the ball, managed 1 for 24 in his three overs before the unfortunate incident cut his campaign short.

Confirming the development, the franchise stated on its official social media handle that the pacer had sustained a fracture to his right foot and would take no further part in IPL 2026 . CSK are yet to announce a replacement for the Maharashtra speedster.

Ghosh’s exit adds to a growing list of injury concerns for the five time champions this season. The team has already been forced to cope without Ayush Mhatre, Khaleel Ahmed, and Nathan Ellis , all sidelined due to fitness issues at different stages of the tournament.

Adding to the concern, former captain MS Dhoni is also recovering from a calf injury and has not featured in any match so far this season, leaving CSK short of experienced leadership and balance at crucial moments.

The string of injuries has tested CSK’s squad depth, even as the team continues to stay competitive in the league. However, with key players unavailable and replacements yet to fully settle in, the franchise faces a challenging phase in the business end of the tournament.

As the season progresses, CSK will now have to quickly rethink their bowling combination and manage resources carefully, hoping their injury list does not grow any longer.
