CS Sanjay Jaju Unveils Roadmap to Modernise MeeSeva Network

Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to formulate a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the state's MeeSeva centres, reinforcing the government's commitment to delivering faster, more accessible, and technology-driven public services.

The directive came during a meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat with a World Bank delegation led by Mahesh Uttamchandani, Regional Director for Digital Development (Asia-Pacific). The discussions centred on advancing Telangana's digital transformation agenda and exploring avenues for collaboration in building next-generation digital infrastructure.

A major focus of the meeting was the modernization of MeeSeva, Telangana's flagship citizen service platform that provides hundreds of government services through a single digital interface. Officials discussed upgrading these centres to meet the evolving needs of citizens while supporting the national vision of Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047.

The meeting also reviewed plans to establish new data centres in the proposed Future City, strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, enhance cybersecurity, expand Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), and create more IT-enabled employment opportunities for the state's youth. These initiatives are expected to improve governance, accelerate digital service delivery, and attract investments in the technology sector.

The World Bank delegation lauded Telangana's progress in digital governance and expressed its readiness to extend technical expertise, knowledge sharing, and global best practices in areas such as digital capacity building, data governance, and public service innovation. The delegation identified Telangana and Haryana among India's most promising destinations for digital investments and recommended the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for projects worth nearly ₹2,000 crore to facilitate future funding opportunities.

Following the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of the T-Fiber project, Telangana's ambitious broadband initiative aimed at delivering high-speed internet connectivity to both rural and urban areas. Officials briefed him on infrastructure development, network expansion, and the rollout of broadband services across the state.

Emphasising timely execution, Sanjay Jaju instructed departments to complete the T-Fiber project within the stipulated timeframe so that citizens can benefit from reliable, high-quality digital services. He also stressed the importance of close coordination among departments, swift resolution of implementation bottlenecks, and continuous monitoring to ensure the project's successful completion.
