CPI(ML) Extends Solidarity to Mohammad Junaid Amid Harassment Allegations

Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation MP Raja Ram Singh and All India Students' Association (AISA) president Neha on Thursday met Mohammad Junaid, a volunteer with Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) and a prominent supporter of the ongoing Jantar Mantar protest, expressing solidarity with him over allegations of continued police harassment.

According to a joint statement issued by CPI(ML) and AISA, the leaders thanked Junaid for supporting protesters by providing free food, drinking water and other essential supplies during the demonstrations. They described his contribution as an act of solidarity with the movement.

The organisations alleged that Junaid and his family have faced sustained harassment by the Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh Police following his involvement in supporting the protest. The statement also claimed that he had been subjected to a "vicious hate campaign" because of his association with the movement.

Junaid met the two leaders at Raja Ram Singh's residence in New Delhi, where they condemned the alleged intimidation and reiterated their support for him and his family. They maintained that attempts to intimidate individuals extending support to democratic protests would not succeed.

In their statement, CPI(ML) and AISA said the student community and the party stand "shoulder to shoulder" with Junaid, asserting that efforts to silence voices of solidarity would be met with broader and stronger public support.

The organisations further said they would continue to back those advocating for justice, equality and democratic rights, while maintaining that intimidation and harassment would not weaken the movement's resolve to resist hatred and uphold democratic values.

No response from the Delhi Police or Uttar Pradesh Police was immediately available regarding the allegations.
