Cousins in battle for TDP Prakasam district President post

A political tug-of-war is brewing in the Prakasam district unit of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), as two brothers vie for the influential district president’s chair. The contest, centered between Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan and his cousin Damacharla Satya, has turned into a behind-the-scenes battle for control within the party ranks.

With former district president Nookasani Balaji vacating the position after being appointed to a nominated post, the TDP high command is now faced with a crucial decision. Reports indicate that Janardhan has proposed the name of Santanutalapadu MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar for the role, citing his accessibility and proximity to Ongole. Insiders suggest that Janardhan’s move stems from concerns that giving the post to his brother could erode his dominance and strengthen Satya’s ties with the party high command.

The final decision now rests with the TDP leadership, which is carefully weighing the political implications of either choice. Meanwhile, the intense sibling rivalry has injected fresh intrigue into Prakasam district politics, keeping party workers and observers closely watching the unfolding drama.
