The Telangana government will complete the Indiramma Towers being constructed for poor families within a year and hand them over to eligible beneficiaries, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said. He also announced financial incentives for contractors who complete the projects ahead of schedule, with rewards of Rs 45 lakh for finishing a month early and Rs 90 lakh for completing the works two months before the deadline.

Ponguleti made the announcement after laying the foundation stone for the Indiramma housing towers at Gajularamaram in Quthbullapur constituency on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Minister and Ranga Reddy district in-charge minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, MLA KP Vivekanand and several beneficiaries.

The minister said the government would develop Indiramma Towers across 23 Assembly constituencies as a continuous housing programme, following the vision of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The initiative is aimed at providing permanent homes to economically weaker families and helping them realise their long-awaited dream of owning a house.

Quthbullapur constituency received more than 7,000 applications from families seeking housing assistance. After scrutiny of the applications, 5,218 people were found eligible for consideration. To ensure that the final selection was free from irregularities, the government conducted a public lucky draw, through which 480 families were selected for the first phase.

Ponguleti said the beneficiary selection process was carried out online with an emphasis on transparency. Those selected would be informed about the basis on which houses were sanctioned and would also receive the relevant documents, he said.

The minister made it clear that the allocation of 480 houses would not mark the end of the housing programme in the constituency. Construction would continue in three additional phases, he said. Around 7.5 acres of land is currently available, while officials have been instructed to identify other government and Housing Department lands that can be used for further construction.

Ponguleti said quality would remain a key priority throughout the construction process and urged beneficiaries to regularly monitor the works. The government wants families to witness the construction of their homes and ultimately enjoy the satisfaction of owning safe and quality housing, he said.

He added that fulfilling the housing aspirations of poor families was among the government's key objectives and stressed that the promise of a home was now being translated into concrete action.
