The Indian National Congress on Sunday carried out a major organisational reshuffle in its Delhi unit, appointing a new team of vice presidents and general secretaries while also constituting a 31-member Political Affairs Committee to steer strategy in the national capital.

The appointments to the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) were approved by the party president and announced through separate statements issued by AICC general secretary K. C. Venugopal.

As part of the revamp, 12 leaders Surender Kumar, Hari Shankar Gupta, Bhisham Sharma, C P Mittal, Kamal Kant Sharma, Jagjiwan Sharma, Abha Chaudhary, Tasveer Solanki, Mudit Aggarwal, Laxman Rawat, Ali Mehandi and Abdul Hannan have been appointed as vice presidents of the Delhi unit. In addition, 26 leaders have been named general secretaries, expanding the organisational structure at a crucial time for the party.

In a parallel move, the Congress constituted a 31-member Political Affairs Committee (PAC), bringing together senior leaders to guide the party’s political direction in Delhi. The panel includes prominent figures such as Ajay Maken, Sandeep Dikshit, Alka Lamba, Udit Raj, along with several other experienced leaders.

The PAC is expected to play a central role in shaping campaign strategies, strengthening organisational coordination, and preparing the party for upcoming electoral contests in the capital.

The reshuffle signals a renewed push by the Congress to revitalise its presence in Delhi, where it has struggled in recent elections. By expanding its leadership base and setting up a dedicated strategy panel, the party aims to improve grassroots outreach and enhance its electoral preparedness in the months ahead.
