The Congress party has announced its candidates for the Graduates’ MLC elections in Telangana, which are scheduled to be held in March next year. The party has selected Sama Ramamohan Reddy from the Mahbubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad Graduates’ constituency and R. Sarvotham Reddy from the Nalgonda–Khammam–Warangal Graduates’ constituency.

The announcement comes as preparations for the elections begin across the two graduates’ constituencies. Although the election dates are yet to be announced, the process of registering eligible voters is currently underway. The Congress has moved ahead with its candidate selection ahead of the polls expected to take place in March.

Ramamohan Reddy is a familiar face within the Telangana Congress organisation and has previously served as the head of the party’s media wing in the state. During his tenure, he was involved in the party’s media-related activities and communications. His active participation in Congress affairs has now led the party to field him in the Mahbubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad Graduates’ constituency.

The constituency covers a significant section of Telangana and represents graduates eligible to vote in the MLC elections. The Congress’ decision to nominate Ramamohan Reddy places a party organisational figure in the electoral contest as it prepares for the upcoming polls.

In the Nalgonda–Khammam–Warangal Graduates’ constituency, the party has chosen R. Sarvotham Reddy, who comes from a prominent Congress family. He is the son of late Congress leader and former minister R. Damodar Reddy.

Sarvotham Reddy has been associated with farming and industrial activities. He completed his engineering education at Osmania University before pursuing an MBA in the United States. Following his studies, he worked in the corporate sector for a period before pursuing his present professional activities.

With voter registration continuing and the official polling schedule still awaited, political parties are expected to step up preparations for the graduates’ constituencies in the coming months. The Congress’ announcement of its candidates marks an early move ahead of the March MLC elections.
