Congress MLA’s generous move for farmers

Miryalaguda Congress MLA Bathula Lakshmareddy has made a generous gesture for the welfare of farmers. He decided to cancel his son Sai Prasanna’s wedding reception and donate the ₹2 crore intended for the event to support farmers in his constituency.

Lakshmareddy personally handed over a cheque for ₹2 crore to Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy, requesting that the amount be used to provide free urea bags to approximately one lakh farmers in the region.

The MLA’s family had initially planned a lavish wedding reception for Sai Prasanna in Miryalaguda. However, witnessing the severe urea shortage affecting farmers across the state, Lakshmareddy, along with his family, chose to redirect the funds to a cause that directly impacts the farming community.

“Our priority is the welfare of the farmers,” Lakshmareddy said. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised the MLA and his family for their generosity and suggested that this act of kindness be highlighted within the party.

With urea scarcity causing widespread difficulties for Telangana’s farmers, political observers believe this donation underscores the state government’s responsibility to support agriculture. Farmers in Miryalaguda welcomed the MLA’s initiative, expressing their gratitude and admiration for his thoughtful gesture.
