Congress gains ground in Khammam

In a significant political development, the entire leadership of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from Mudigonda Mandal in Madhira constituency, Khammam district, has officially joined the Congress party. This move was announced by Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana and Congress Legislature Party leader, who shared the news on his official social media handle.

Speaking about the development, Vikramarka highlighted several welfare and development initiatives implemented by the Congress government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. According to him, these measures include:

• Reduction of state loans from 11.5% interest to 8%, providing financial relief.

• Regular payment of employee dues.

• ₹21,000 crore loan waiver for farmers and ₹9,000 crore under farmer assurance schemes.

• Construction of Indiramma houses with ₹5 lakh assistance.

• 24-hour free electricity for 29 lakh pump sets and 200 units of free electricity for 51 lakh families.

• Free bus travel for women and subsidized gas cylinders worth ₹5,000.

• Free distribution of 6 kg of fine rice.

• 56,000 jobs filled for unemployed youth, with plans to fill an additional 30,000 positions.

• ₹21,000 crore loans provided to women's self-help groups.

• Establishment of world-class Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every constituency, with an investment of ₹200 crore.

Vikramarka stated that the Congress government’s programs continue to focus on development and welfare, aiming to improve living standards and empower citizens, while also strengthening the party’s position in Telangana.
