Congress Comeback in Telangana a Clear Public Mandate: Manickam Tagore

Congress MP Manickam Tagore expressed happiness over the party’s emphatic victory in the Telangana municipal elections , describing the results as a clear mandate from the people. He said the outcome was not merely a victory but an extraordinary comeback for the Congress.

Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Tagore analysed what he termed a significant political turnaround. Comparing the present results with those of 2020, he said the latest victory marked a journey “from disappointment to dominance.”

“When we faced a setback in 2020, Revanth Bhai (Chief Minister Revanth Reddy) had said that with the blessings of the people, Congress would bounce back. Today, that statement has come true. The people of Telangana have chosen development, stability, and Congress governance,” Tagore noted.

He attributed the victory to the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy , the coordination of State Congress president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, and the efforts of ministers and grassroots-level workers. Tagore said the sacrifices of party workers who stood by the Congress during difficult times were reflected in the results.

Describing the outcome as more than just an electoral success, he said it was a testament to the people’s faith in progressive and inclusive governance . According to Tagore, the victory is dedicated to the aspirations of “Telangana Talli” and marks another step towards realising Sonia Gandhi’s vision of a people-centric Telangana .
