Compressor Blast at Ghaziabad Factory Kills Two Workers, One Critical

A routine testing procedure at a factory in Ghaziabad’s Sahibabad industrial area turned tragic after a compressor exploded with massive force, killing two workers and leaving another seriously injured. The incident has once again raised concerns over industrial safety standards in factory zones across Uttar Pradesh.

According to police officials, the blast took place on Thursday evening in the Link Road police station area during the testing of industrial equipment inside the factory premises. The sudden explosion created panic in the area as workers rushed to rescue the injured men trapped near the site of the blast.

The victims were identified as Imran (34) , Tribhuvan (38) and Banke (25) . All three sustained severe injuries and were immediately shifted to hospitals for emergency treatment.

Police said Tribhuvan was admitted to Max Hospital , while Imran and Banke were taken to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Despite medical efforts, Imran and Tribhuvan succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Banke continues to undergo treatment and remains under medical supervision.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Amit Saxena said the police received information about the explosion around 6 pm on Thursday and teams were rushed to the spot soon after. The bodies of the deceased workers have been sent for post-mortem examination .

Authorities have not yet registered a case in connection with the incident. Officials are expected to examine whether negligence, equipment failure, or lack of safety precautions contributed to the deadly accident.

The incident has sparked fresh discussion about workplace safety in industrial units, especially in densely packed manufacturing hubs where workers often operate heavy machinery under risky conditions. Local residents and labour groups have demanded a detailed investigation and strict action if any violation of safety norms is found.
