College student dies after fall from 28th floor in Noida, No Suicide note found

A 21-year-old college student died after falling from the 28th floor of a residential society in Sector 32, Noida , police said on Monday.

The incident occurred on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday , when the woman, identified as Arpita , allegedly fell from the balcony of her apartment in D-Block of the housing complex.

According to police officials, no suicide note was recovered from the scene. Family members, however, told authorities that she had been mentally distressed for some time , particularly after returning home recently.

Arpita was a second-year Bachelor of Technology student at a college in Punjab and had come back to Noida just two days prior to the incident.

A security guard at the society reportedly noticed the fall and immediately alerted the family, following which the police were informed.

The deceased’s father is a businessman , and the family originally hails from Basti district in Uttar Pradesh , currently residing in Sector 32.

Police said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination after completing inquest formalities.

“No suicide note was recovered from the spot. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,” a police officer said.

Authorities added that all possible angles, including accidental fall and other factors, are under investigation , and further details will emerge based on forensic and post-mortem reports.
