Collector visits old age home, plans pilgrimage for seniors

The district administration is giving special attention to the welfare of senior citizens, said In-Charge District Collector Garima Agarwal during her visit to Mandeppally village on Wednesday. She interacted warmly with the residents of the government-run old age home, inquiring about their health and needs, and distributed fruits to the elderly, demonstrating compassion and care.

The Collector directed officials to make arrangements for senior citizens to participate in the upcoming Sri Tyagaraja Swami Aradhana festival in Vemulawada as a pilgrimage. She emphasized that providing opportunities for elderly residents to engage in spiritual activities would enhance their mental well-being and foster social participation. “The welfare of senior citizens is a key responsibility of district administration,” she added.

Later, Collector Agarwal inspected the construction of a children’s home in Mandeppally, Tangallapalli Mandal. She reviewed the progress with officials and urged them to accelerate the work while maintaining quality standards, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for the children.

Highlighting the administration’s commitment, she said, “The government will always support vulnerable groups, including senior citizens and children, as we work toward inclusive development in the district.”
