
Collector Calls for Early Action Plan for 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu
With an eye on hosting the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu on a magnificent scale, the district administration has begun groundwork well ahead of time. Determined to make the event resemble a “South India’s Kumbh Mela,” B. Satyaprasad, Collector of Jagtial, has instructed officials to roll out a comprehensive and long-term action plan.
At a high-level review meeting held at the Collectorate, the Collector brought together representatives from key departments including Revenue, Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj Engineering, Roads & Buildings, Endowments, and Electricity. He sought detailed updates on infrastructure blueprints and directed officials to revisit earlier proposals at the mandal level and submit refined, consolidated reports within a week.
Stressing that the festival is expected to draw lakhs of pilgrims , he underscored the need for meticulous planning to ensure smooth crowd management and hassle-free arrangements for sacred bathing.
Temple Infrastructure and Riverfront Development in Focus
The administration has decided to prioritise the development of major temples situated along the Godavari riverbank. Master plans are to be prepared for key temple centres at Dharmapuri and Koti Lingala, keeping in mind the anticipated surge in devotees.
In addition, existing bathing ghats will be modernised and new ones constructed where required. The Collector called for a holistic infrastructure strategy covering road widening, dedicated parking zones, drinking water facilities, accommodation, sanitation, and uninterrupted power supply ensuring the district can efficiently handle crowds exceeding two lakh visitors in a single day .
Reiterating the importance of inter-departmental coordination, Collector B. Satyaprasad urged officials to work in sync to deliver a well-planned and memorable Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 .
