Collect grain in cyclone-hit areas: CM Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that the ongoing paddy procurement process is not disrupted despite the severe weather caused by Cyclone Montha across several districts of Telangana. He emphasized the need to take all necessary precautionary measures to protect the crops that farmers have worked hard to produce.

Special Responsibilities for Mandal Officers The Chief Minister instructed that a mandal-level officer be appointed as the special in-charge for each grain procurement center. Collectors were told to ensure officials remain on the ground, cancel all leaves, and closely monitor the situation. He also ordered that district collectors submit situation reports every 24 hours without fail.

Review via Video Conference CM Revanth Reddy reviewed the situation through a video conference with ministers, collectors, and SPs, focusing on cyclone relief and grain procurement measures. Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, V. Sridhari, CMO Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, and DGP Shivadher Reddy were among those who participated.

Reassurance to Farmers The Chief Minister noted that the cyclone had struck during the peak harvest season, causing great anxiety among farmers. He directed officials to take measures to prevent crop losses, including shifting harvested paddy to nearby function halls if necessary. He instructed the Civil Supplies Department to stay in constant coordination with collectors and provide timely guidance.

Enhanced Monitoring in Affected Districts Collectors and SPs in cyclone-affected areas have been told to jointly set up monitoring centers, while district in-charge ministers have been asked to remain accessible and move among the people to oversee relief operations directly.

Relief and Rescue Efforts Strengthened The CM ordered intensified flood relief operations, particularly in the worst-affected districts of Warangal and Hanamkonda. He directed that additional boats, SDRF personnel, and necessary rescue equipment be deployed immediately. People stranded in flood-hit areas should be shifted to safety, and drones should be used to deliver food and drinking water where needed.

Focus on Road and Infrastructure Safety The Chief Minister instructed officials to divert traffic on damaged roads and alert locals near tanks, streams, irrigation projects, and low-level bridges. Due to weather conditions, his planned visit to Warangal was postponed; instead, he will conduct an aerial survey over Warangal and Husnabad on Thursday.

CM Revanth Reddy affirmed that the government is fully prepared to protect the people, urging officials to stay vigilant and ensure there is no loss of life anywhere in the state.
