Coca Cola

has announced a major leadership change, naming company veteran Henrique Braun as its next Chief Executive Officer. Braun will assume the role on March 31, 2026 , as current CEO James Quincey transitions to the position of executive chairman.

Braun, 57, has been associated with Coca Cola for nearly 30 years, rising through a wide range of global roles. Before becoming Chief Operating Officer earlier this year, he headed operations in Brazil, Latin America, Greater China and South Korea. His experience spans supply chain, new business development, marketing, innovation, general management and bottling operations. Born in California and raised in Brazil, he holds degrees from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Michigan State University and Georgia State University.

Under James Quincey’s nine year leadership as CEO, Coca Cola expanded its portfolio by adding more than ten billion dollar brands, including BodyArmor and Fairlife. He also guided the company into the alcoholic beverages segment with the launch of Topo Chico Hard Seltzer in 2021. Quincey oversaw a significant restructuring in 2020 that reduced the total number of Coca Cola brands by half, streamlining operations and focusing investment on fast growing products such as Simply and Minute Maid.

As the leadership transition approaches, the company continues to face a challenging market environment marked by soft demand in the US and Europe and growing consumer scrutiny of ingredients. Following public pressure, including a push from former President Donald Trump, Coca Cola recently announced plans to introduce a cane sugar version of its classic Cola.

Coca Cola’s board expressed confidence in Braun’s ability to steer the company forward. Lead independent director David Weinberg said Braun’s global experience and long service position him well to build on the company’s strengths and pursue new growth opportunities. Shares of Coca Cola remained flat in after market trading following the announcement.
