Coalition unity is key to state’s development: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan
Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan said that the coalition government is working to restore systems that had weakened under the previous YSRCP administration. He stressed that holding power is meaningless if the coalition cannot bring the reforms people expect. With continued unity for the next 15 years, he said, the state could achieve stable and sustained development.
Pawan Kalyan made these remarks after inaugurating the newly established Divisional Development Office (DDO) at Renigunta in Chittoor district. He later held a meeting with leaders and workers from Jana Sena, TDP, and BJP.
Addressing the gathering, Pawan Kalyan said that the coalition has the strength and responsibility to bring meaningful changes to governance. Reviewing issues in the Panchayati Raj system over the past five years, the government has introduced reforms through G.O. 57 and 58, leading to the creation of new offices like the DDO.
As the son of a government employee, he said he understands the value of promotions. He stated that nearly 10,000 Panchayati Raj employees who had been waiting for years finally received promotions, strictly based on eligibility and without lobbying.
Pawan Kalyan emphasised that although the three coalition partners have different ideologies, they came together with the common goal of ensuring good governance and preventing lawlessness in the state. Minor communication gaps or misunderstandings, he said, can be resolved through dialogue.
He added that the unity displayed in Andhra Pradesh also helped the NDA strengthen its position at the Centre, enabling the allocation of nominated posts.
Criticising the previous administration, he said that the plunder of the Seshachalam forests was carried out on a massive scale, and that the Red Sanders worth thousands of crores recovered so far is only about 10% of what was looted.
Pawan Kalyan urged party workers to fight corruption, curb unlawful activities, and become the voice of the vulnerable. Recalling the threats faced during the previous panchayat elections, he praised Jana Sena activists for standing firm despite risks.
He announced that committees with five members will be formed from the village level up to the Lok Sabha level to ensure proper recognition and coordination among party workers. Restoring courage in society, he said, is one of Jana Sena’s core missions.
After the meeting, Pawan Kalyan inspected the Panchayati Raj Department’s pilot project, the “Swachh Rathams.” He examined the vehicles brought from Tiruchanur and Karakambadi panchayats and reviewed how essential commodities are being provided to residents who hand over dry waste and unused items. He appreciated the officials and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit.
Several MLAs and Jana Sena leaders from the undivided Chittoor district participated in the program.
