Coalition Government Failed to Honour Poll Promises: YSRCP Leader
Former MLA Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy has accused the ruling coalition government in Andhra Pradesh of failing to fulfil the promises made to people during the Assembly elections, alleging that it was attempting to mislead voters with unfulfilled assurances. He warned that the government would face public anger over its alleged anti-people policies.
Campaigning for YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidates in the Nandyal municipal elections, Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy, accompanied by MLC Ishaq Basha and SDPI leaders, visited Saraswathi Nagar, Suddala Peta and other localities in the town. He appealed to voters to support YSRCP candidates and help restore development in Nandyal municipality.
Criticising the coalition government's performance, the former MLA said the previous YSRCP government had extended assistance to people during the COVID-19 pandemic and delivered welfare schemes directly to households. In contrast, he alleged that the present government had failed to sanction new pensions despite nearing three years in office. He also accused it of neglecting Aarogyasri, a healthcare scheme that provides support to eligible patients from economically weaker sections.
He alleged that the coalition had made several promises before the elections but had failed to implement them after coming to power, leaving people facing difficulties. He further criticised the government for allegedly creating divisions among communities along caste and religious lines for political gains.
Raising the controversy surrounding the Tirumala laddu prasadam, Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led government of spreading false claims that had hurt devotees' religious sentiments. He said the administration was giving priority to political interests instead of addressing public grievances, contributing to growing dissatisfaction among people.
As part of the municipal election campaign, he urged voters to support municipal chairperson candidate Ameer Basha, along with ward candidates Shaik Shamshad from Ward 42, M. Lakshmidevi from Ward 43, Baisani Ramesh Babu from Ward 15 and Shaik Mumtaz Begum from Ward 16.
He appealed to voters to elect the YSRCP candidates by voting for the party's fan symbol, asserting that people would deliver their verdict on the coalition government's record and its failure to honour electoral commitments.
