Telangana police have made multiple high-profile busts in the state over scams, illegal parties, and drug trafficking.

In Suryapet, the Mella Chervu police uncovered a scam involving funds meant for public welfare. Eight people have been arrested, including two personal assistants of former Huzur Nagar MLA Saidi Reddy. The accused were collecting applications for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) from victims at the MLA’s camp office but never issued the promised checks. Instead, they allegedly withdrew money from the bank using the victims’ names.

According to a police official, “Seven checks were involved, totaling nearly ₹9.5 lakh. The main accused, Venkateshwarlu and Omkar, personal assistants of the former MLA, were reportedly involved in this scam even before the Assembly elections. All accused have been sent to judicial remand.”

The police have assured that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow. They have urged the public to be cautious and report any suspicious activities related to scams or misuse of funds meant for public welfare.
