Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly floor test on May 13 , Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has stepped up meetings with leaders from various political parties in an effort to strengthen support for his government .

On Tuesday, Vijay visited the headquarters of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Chennai, days after the party backed the TVK-led administration during the government formation process. During the interaction, the Chief Minister thanked the party leadership for its support and assured them that his government would continue to uphold the interests and rights of minority communities in the state.

The meeting has gained political significance as the IUML is traditionally aligned with the opposition DMK. Observers believe the party expects the government to remain sensitive to minority welfare issues and maintain regular consultations on policies affecting those communities.

Speaking after the meeting, IUML president K M Kader Mohideen welcomed the state government’s recent decision to close over 700 TASMAC liquor outlets across Tamil Nadu. The move has been viewed positively by the IUML, which has consistently advocated measures linked to social welfare and public wellbeing.

As part of his ongoing outreach, Vijay is also scheduled to visit Sathyamurthy Bhavan , the headquarters of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, on Wednesday . He is expected to meet TNCC president K Selvaperunthagai , AICC in-charge for Tamil Nadu Girish Chodankar , Congress Legislature Party leader S Rajeshkumar and other senior Congress functionaries.

Over the past two days, the Chief Minister has met several prominent political leaders across party lines. On Monday, he held discussions with DMK president and former Chief Minister M K Stalin at his residence in Alwarpet. Vijay also met MDMK founder Vaiko, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss and NTK chief Seeman.

Sources indicate that Vijay may also meet VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan as part of efforts to build wider political consensus before the confidence vote .
