CM Vijay Draws Massive Crowd During Tiruchirappalli Roadshow Amid Tight Security

C Joseph Vijay held a roadshow in Tiruchirappalli on Monday , drawing a large and enthusiastic turnout from party workers and the public.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister arrived from the state capital and was accorded a ceremonial police salute upon arrival. He was received by Ministers Aadhav Arjuna and S Ramesh, along with senior officials and Lok Sabha MP Durai Vaiko. Authorities had put in place tight security arrangements in view of the Chief Minister’s visit.

From the airport, Vijay travelled in a van towards the venue of the public meeting at St Joseph College, covering a distance of nearly 10 km . Seated in the front, he waved at crowds gathered on both sides of the road as supporters and locals greeted him with enthusiasm. At several points, party workers and residents showered flowers on his vehicle , while crowds continuously raised slogans of “Vijay,” creating a charged atmosphere.

The public meeting is scheduled at around 4.15 PM , where he is expected to address the gathering and thank the people of Tiruchirappalli East , the constituency from where he won and later resigned in order to retain the Perambur seat in Chennai. His visit is being closely watched as part of his continuing political outreach.

The roadshow also holds political significance as Tiruchirappalli was the starting point of his state-wide campaign titled “I am coming” , launched on September 13, 2025, ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections . The city has since remained an important centre in his campaign narrative.

The event highlighted strong mobilisation by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), with visible participation from cadres and local supporters despite strict policing. Analysts view the visit as part of Vijay’s broader effort to consolidate ground support and reinforce his presence in key constituencies ahead of the electoral contest.
