CM Takes Stock of Rain Havoc, Orders Swift Action from Officials

The state government has moved quickly to address crop damage caused by unseasonal rains and strong winds , with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directing officials to take immediate relief measures for affected farmers.

During a video conference from his Undavalli residence on Friday, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation with district collectors and senior officials.

Widespread Agricultural and Horticultural Losses

Officials reported that crops in about 42 mandals across 12 districts were affected. Around 4,840 hectares of maize , 1,530 hectares of paddy , and 310 hectares of black gram were damaged, with estimated losses of ₹40 crore.

Horticulture crops, including mango , banana , chilli , vegetables , and lemon orchards , were impacted across 48 mandals in 9 districts, with losses pegged at ₹23 crore. The Chief Minister called for swift submission of detailed assessment reports.

Focus on Fuel Supply and Preparedness

To avoid disruptions, the Chief Minister directed officials to strengthen the fuel supply system and prepare for potential LPG shortages. He also emphasized adopting alternatives such as induction cooking , piped gas , and electric vehicles , while ensuring uninterrupted supply in rural and tribal areas , as well as schools and temples .

Global Tensions Raise Supply Concerns

Amid rising tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, the Chief Minister warned of possible supply chain disruptions. Officials were asked to coordinate with the Centre to prevent shortages of fertilizers , petrol , and diesel , and to monitor essential commodity prices closely.
