CM Revanth vows to transform Kodangal into a model constituency by 2034

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has promised to turn Kodangal into a model legislative constituency by 2034, highlighting plans to develop the region into a benchmark for others across the country. Addressing the neglect Kodangal has faced over the past seven decades, he said the constituency would be developed so that people from all over India could witness its transformation.

During his visit to Kodangal on Monday, the CM inaugurated development projects worth ₹103 crore and laid the foundation for several initiatives. He visited the modern centralized community kitchen run by the Hare Krishna Movement and performed a ground-breaking ceremony for a mid-day meal kitchen building under the Akshaya Patra Foundation.

Revanth Reddy emphasized that the welfare of girls is crucial for the state’s economic growth and outlined government initiatives to support their education and health. As part of this effort, the state is launching a program to provide daily morning meals to 28,000 students across 312 schools in Kodangal. The CM assured that the midday meal scheme will continue uninterrupted to ensure no child studies on an empty stomach.

The CM announced plans to turn Kodangal into a major educational center. The constituency will host medical, veterinary, agricultural, nursing, paramedical, physiotherapy, and engineering colleges, along with the state’s first science-focused school. A world-class education campus worth ₹5,000 crore is planned over the next 16 months, aimed at integrating local students into the state’s broader development.

To address water shortages in Kodangal, Maktal, and Narayanapet, the government will implement large-scale irrigation projects. A ₹5,000 crore lift irrigation scheme will bring Krishna River water to every acre, with 95% of farmers voluntarily agreeing to provide land for the project.

Highlighting the importance of industrial growth, the CM pointed to the upcoming cement plant and the expansion of existing industries. The state government has released funds for the construction of the Vikarabad-Krishna railway line, long awaited by the region, with work expected to start within three months after cabinet approval.

The government is also taking steps to ensure quality sarees reach a crore women across the state. The CM urged officials to prioritize infrastructure development in schools, temples, drinking water projects, and Indiramma houses, while emphasizing the importance of electing capable leaders in the upcoming local body elections.

As part of his Kodangal visit, Revanth Reddy inaugurated the bus service run by the Madduru Mandal Mahila Samakhya and distributed interest-free cheques worth ₹300 crore to self-help groups. Ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha and Vakiti Srihari, along with local representatives and community leaders, participated in the events.
