Telangana is taking a major step to strengthen village-level governance. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled the “Handbook for Village Panchayat Representatives,” designed to provide comprehensive guidance to local leaders on their roles and responsibilities.

The handbook aims to ensure that elected representatives of village panchayats have a clear understanding of the powers, duties, and responsibilities assigned to them under the Panchayat Raj Act of 2018. Prepared under the Telangana Rural Development Authority, the 292-page guide covers a wide range of topics, including panchayat administration, financial management, implementation of development programs, service delivery to citizens, transparency, and accountability.

It also provides practical instructions for representatives on how to function within the law and effectively address the issues faced by their communities.

The launch event was attended by ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Seethakka, Jupalli Krishna Rao, Konda Surekha, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with MLC Vakiti Srihari, government advisor Sudarshan Reddy, Minister Azharuddin, senior officials, and other representatives.

CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that the handbook will serve as a valuable tool for village representatives to perform their duties responsibly and efficiently.
