CM Revanth thanks public and officials for smooth Panchayat elections

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth expressed his gratitude to the people, election officials, and government authorities for conducting the state’s Gram Panchayat elections peacefully and democratically. Speaking at a press conference alongside Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, Ministers Uttam and Seethakka, and other public representatives, the Chief Minister praised the Election Commission and officials for ensuring a flawless process.

CM thanked the public for supporting democratic governance during the elections. He also highlighted that the state legislature will discuss the implementation of 42% reservation for BCs in local body elections and will take decisions on MPTC, ZPTC, and municipal polls based on the consensus of all parties.

Elections for 12,702 of the state’s 12,728 Panchayats were held in three phases. The Chief Minister said it was commendable that voters exercised their choice freely in a peaceful atmosphere. He noted that after two years of governance, the government’s approach of taking local bodies’ elections to the people had received significant support, with 7,527 Panchayats (66%) voting in favor of the government, strengthening its accountability.

CM Revanth outlined the government’s key welfare and development initiatives over the past year, including the issuance of new ration cards, distribution of fine rice, farmer loan waivers, financial support under the “Rythu Bharosa” scheme, bonuses for small millets, free electricity up to 200 units, free bus services for women, subsidized cooking gas cylinders at ₹500, zero-interest loans for women’s federations worth ₹27,000 crore, the construction of Indiramma homes for 450,000 families, filling 61,000 government jobs in the first year, resolving long-standing SC classification issues, initiating BC community census after a century, and improving access to quality education for the poor.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is focused on increasing revenue while reducing waste and ensuring that every welfare scheme benefits the people without misuse. He also stated that the Telangana government is prepared to provide a detailed discussion in the legislature regarding the state’s water rights over the Krishna and Godavari rivers.
