CM Revanth: Sympathy Aside, BRS Has No Moral Ground in Jubilee Hills

On the eve of the Jubilee Hills byelection, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy told the Hyderabad Press Club that the Congress government enjoys rising public trust and could remain in power until 2034 if it continues its developmental momentum. He said Telangana’s growth requires a stable government with strong representation from Hyderabad, noting that just like the Secunderabad Cantonment win a Congress victory in Jubilee Hills is vital for coordinated urban development.

Revanth Reddy said he personally sympathises with BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha but questioned the party’s moral appeal for sympathy votes, recalling that KCR had never supported unopposed elections for widows in past cases like PJR’s. He dismissed BRS allegations of poor civic conditions, arguing that the outgoing MLA, corporators, and previous government were all from BRS. He also mocked KCR’s absence from campaigning and said defections of ten BRS MLAs to Congress show the party’s decline.

Predicting a clear Congress win, he said BRS would lose the seat and the BJP would forfeit its deposit, with results on November 14 reflecting Hyderabad’s growing confidence in the Congress government.
