Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on BRS leaders K. Chandrashekar Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, alleging that the previous government failed to address the problems of weavers, farmers and migrant workers in Sircilla. Addressing a Praja Palana public meeting in Rajanna Sircilla district, he also demanded a white paper on the assets of KTR and other members of the KCR family.

Revanth Reddy said Sircilla had earned a reputation as a major handloom centre because of the skills of its weavers. However, he alleged that the previous BRS government failed to resolve the problems faced by weavers, farmers and migrant workers despite KTR representing the constituency for several terms.

Questioning KTR’s financial growth after entering politics, the Chief Minister asked how he could allegedly accumulate assets worth thousands of crores after winning the 2009 election by a margin of just 172 votes. He also questioned why weaver suicides and migration to Gulf countries continued despite repeated electoral victories.

Revanth Reddy said the Congress government had spent Rs 1,730 crore on the handloom sector in two-and-a-half years, while the previous BRS government had spent around Rs 2,000 crore over 10 years, according to his claim. He said his government had cleared pending dues to weavers and introduced measures to support migrant workers, including Rs 5 lakh assistance to families of deceased migrants.

The Chief Minister challenged KTR, KCR, Harish Rao and Santosh Rao to disclose details of their assets. He sought explanations regarding alleged farmhouses in Janwada, Shankarpally, Moinabad and Erravelli, business properties around Hyderabad and alleged investments in the US and Singapore.

Revanth Reddy also accused the previous administration of irregularities involving Maneru sand, land, water resources and contracts. Referring to the Nerella episode, he alleged that Dalits faced police excesses and criticised the BRS leadership over the issue.

He said Congress was prioritising social justice, citing the appointment of Gaddam Prasad Kumar as Assembly Speaker and representation for women, BCs, Dalits and other communities. He also highlighted government initiatives including farmer loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, crop insurance, free power, free bus travel for women and Indiramma houses.

Revanth Reddy challenged KTR to attend the Assembly for a direct debate on their respective records. He said that if Congress wins in Sircilla, he would personally take responsibility for the constituency’s development.
