Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to significantly speed up construction of the Hakimpet Education Hub in Vikarabad district, asserting that the ambitious project is critical to expanding professional education infrastructure beyond Hyderabad. Stressing accountability, the Chief Minister said he would personally review progress every month and, if required, spend a day at the project site to ensure timely completion.

During an inspection of the sprawling campus, Revanth Reddy reviewed the ongoing construction of engineering, medical, nursing, veterinary, physiotherapy and paramedical colleges, besides student hostels and supporting infrastructure. He also examined the status of academic buildings, internal roads, civic amenities and future expansion plans before holding detailed discussions with officials on ways to accelerate execution.

The Hakimpet Education Hub is being developed as an integrated higher education campus aimed at bringing multiple professional institutions under one umbrella. Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen access to quality education for students from Vikarabad and neighbouring districts while easing pressure on institutions concentrated in Hyderabad.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the pace of work, the Chief Minister said the project was not progressing as expected and instructed officials to complete all works within the prescribed timeline. He directed departments to submit monthly progress reports for every component of the project and warned that negligence or delays would not be tolerated.

In a stern message to the administration, Revanth Reddy said officials responsible for slowing down the project should face strict disciplinary action, including suspension if necessary. He emphasised that effective monitoring and accountability were essential to ensuring the timely delivery of one of the state's flagship education initiatives.

The Chief Minister also took serious note of delays in rehabilitating farmers who had parted with their land for the project. He instructed officials to immediately complete the pending allotment of residential plots and ensure that ownership pattas are distributed to all eligible beneficiaries by next week.

Following the site visit, Revanth Reddy chaired a review meeting with senior officials to assess construction progress, resolve pending issues and finalise the next phase of implementation, reaffirming the government's commitment to transforming the Hakimpet Education Hub into a modern multidisciplinary education and research ecosystem.
