With the Telangana government gearing up to implement an ambitious development and welfare agenda, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed all departments to place revenue mobilisation at the centre of their administrative priorities. Stressing that the success of the state's budget commitments depends on robust revenue generation, he called for a comprehensive strategy to enhance collections and eliminate leakages across departments.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on revenue mobilisation at the MCR Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRDI) , the Chief Minister instructed officials to establish a dedicated “Chasing Cell” to closely track revenue collections, recover pending dues and continuously monitor departmental performance. He said the state could not afford losses arising from inefficiencies or weak enforcement mechanisms.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka , Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao , Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju , Government Adviser K. Ramakrishna Rao , and senior officials from key departments.

Revanth Reddy emphasised that agencies such as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) should explore ways to strengthen their revenue streams. He also directed officials to tighten oversight in major revenue-generating sectors, including Commercial Taxes, Excise, Mining and other regulatory departments , ensuring that every rupee due to the government is collected efficiently.

The Chief Minister made it clear that negligence in revenue enhancement and resource mobilisation would not be tolerated. He urged departments to improve operational efficiency, adopt data-driven monitoring systems and focus on achieving their financial targets without delay. According to him, stronger revenue performance is essential to sustain the government's commitments towards infrastructure expansion, industrial growth and welfare programmes.

Highlighting the importance of effective budget planning, Revanth Reddy instructed departments to align expenditure proposals with realistic revenue expectations. He said budgets should be based on ground realities rather than optimistic assumptions , enabling the government to maintain fiscal discipline while accelerating development.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to prepare department-wise plans for the speedy completion of pending projects , with particular emphasis on land acquisition , which he described as a critical requirement for timely project execution. Delays in land acquisition, he noted, often lead to cost overruns and setbacks in infrastructure delivery.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting all departments, Revanth Reddy assured officials of full cooperation in achieving revenue goals. He urged them to work in coordination and adopt a results-oriented approach to strengthen Telangana's financial position and create the resources needed to drive the state's long-term growth agenda.
