CM Revanth Reddy Meets Ghana High Commissioner, Lockheed Martin Officials
In a significant push to elevate Telangana’s global profile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a series of high-level meetings with international and industry stakeholders, signalling the state’s intent to expand both diplomatic engagement and high-value investments . At his Jubilee Hills residence, he met Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso , High Commissioner of Ghana , during the envoy’s first visit to Hyderabad after assuming office. The discussions focused on strengthening ties across key sectors such as education , healthcare , trade , and science and technology , with both sides expressing interest in building long-term institutional partnerships and expanding cooperation between Telangana and African nations.
In a parallel engagement, Tim Reffell , a senior executive of global defence giant Lockheed Martin and Managing Director of its India joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems, held detailed discussions with the Chief Minister on expanding aerospace and defence investments. Lockheed Martin, one of the world’s largest aerospace and defence companies, is known for manufacturing advanced platforms such as the C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft and F-16 fighter jets , and plays a critical role in global defence supply chains. Through its Hyderabad-based joint venture, the company already manufactures key aircraft components, placing Telangana on the global aerospace map.
During the meeting, Reffell outlined plans to explore the establishment of a C-130J Super Hercules assembly line in India, in line with the Centre’s Make in India initiative, while also expanding ongoing production of F-16 fighter jet wings for international markets. The company further expressed strong interest in developing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facilities in Telangana, a move that could transform the state into a major aviation services hub.
While no formal agreements were announced, the discussions signal that several strategic projects are under active consideration. Telangana is offering strong policy support through initiatives like TS-iPASS , along with investor-friendly infrastructure and dedicated aerospace clusters. The state is also extending cooperation to international partners by facilitating collaboration in training, healthcare access, and trade linkages.
With a dual focus on diplomacy and industrial growth, Telangana is positioning itself as a global hub for partnerships, aiming to strengthen its aerospace ecosystem , attract global investments, and enhance its role in emerging international supply chains.
