CM Revanth Reddy Directs Distribution Of Uniforms, Books By June 15

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that students studying in government schools and welfare residential institutions across the state receive all educational materials in full by June 15 , at the very beginning of the new academic year.

During a high-level review meeting held on Thursday, the Chief Minister discussed the centralised procurement system for educational supplies. He noted that earlier, the School Education Department along with BC, Minority, ST, and SC Welfare Departments carried out purchases independently. This, he said, led to a lack of uniformity in quality and complaints of corruption and misuse of funds in the supply of uniforms and notebooks.

The government has introduced a centralized system to curb these irregularities, he said, adding that the objective is to serve students’ interests , not the profits of suppliers.

The Chief Minister instructed that all items provided to students including notebooks, uniforms, tracksuits, school bags, trunk boxes, bed sheets, plates, and glasses must be of the highest quality . He also directed the appointment of a nodal officer in each mandal to monitor the distribution process and ensure efficient supply to schools and hostels at the village level.

Officials were asked to collect photos and videos of the distribution process to verify that every student has received the required materials. He further instructed that feedback from students be gathered regarding the quality of the supplies.

The Chief Minister emphasised that payments to suppliers should be made promptly after completion of distribution . He observed that timely provision of materials would help students focus fully on their studies.

Government Advisor P. Sudarshan Reddy , MP Vem Narender Reddy , and senior officials from various departments attended the meeting.
