CM Revanth Reddy Directs Congress Cadre to Prevent Voter Exclusion During Roll Revision
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed Congress leaders and grassroots workers across Telangana to ensure that no eligible voter loses their franchise during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Addressing a meeting of the party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday evening, the Chief Minister outlined a detailed strategy for the Congress organisation ahead of the voter list revision exercise. He instructed the party to immediately appoint in-charges for all 119 Assembly constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha segments to closely monitor the process and address issues on the ground.
Revanth Reddy expressed concern that several vulnerable sections, including Lambadas, tribal communities, migrant workers, Dalits, minorities and women , could face the risk of being left out of the revised voter lists. He noted that large-scale migration from many constituencies for employment purposes could further complicate the exercise, making it essential for party workers to remain vigilant.
The Chief Minister stressed that Congress functionaries at the booth level must work in coordination with constituency in-charges to ensure that every eligible voter remains on the rolls. He also called upon party leaders to develop a thorough understanding of the revision process and the challenges that may arise during its implementation.
Alongside electoral preparedness, Revanth Reddy unveiled a fresh organisational plan aimed at strengthening the party structure while in government. He directed ministers serving as district in-charges to dedicate one full day every ten days amounting to three days a month exclusively to party activities.
During these visits, ministers have been asked to travel extensively within their districts, interact directly with workers and assess organisational issues firsthand. Revanth Reddy made it clear that holding government office would not exempt anyone from contributing to party-building efforts.
The Chief Minister also announced that he would personally meet grassroots Congress workers once every ten days and devote three days each month solely to organisational affairs. According to him, maintaining direct contact with party cadres and addressing their concerns remains crucial to strengthening the Congress network at the grassroots level.
The PAC meeting was attended by AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan , TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud , and other committee members. Discussions focused on the party's roadmap for the forthcoming voter list revision and measures to ensure effective coordination between the organisation and the government machinery.
