CM Revanth Reddy Calls for More Startups, Women Entrepreneurs in Telangana
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged young people to move beyond seeking jobs and aspire to establish their own companies capable of competing globally. Calling for greater entrepreneurial ambition, he encouraged youth to launch startups, embrace innovation and contribute to strengthening the state’s economy through business creation and employment generation.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Global Business Summit 2026 at HITEX in Hyderabad, organised by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the Chief Minister said India was working towards becoming a $30 trillion economy by 2047, with states playing a crucial role in achieving the target.
Revanth Reddy cited Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen and World Bank President Ajay Banga as examples of Indian-origin professionals holding influential global positions. However, he stressed that young Indians should aim to establish businesses rather than remain limited to leadership roles in companies founded by others.
He said entrepreneurial thinking, technological advancement and innovation were essential for building globally competitive Indian enterprises. Referring to Skyroot Aerospace founder Pawan Chandana, he said the emergence of ten more companies with similar potential would be a significant achievement for Telangana. The government, he added, was ready to support startups and encourage innovative business ventures.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need to expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs. He said Telangana had facilitated steps to provide ₹61,000 crore in financial assistance through bank linkages to women’s self-help groups, which collectively have around 67 lakh members across the state.
He highlighted the initiative encouraging these groups to purchase buses and lease them to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation, describing such measures as important for improving women’s financial independence.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana aimed to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Under this strategy, the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) will focus on IT and services, while the Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE), between the Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road, will prioritise manufacturing, industrial parks and logistics. The Rural Agricultural Region Economy (RARE) will concentrate on agriculture, food processing and rural employment.
The government has introduced the HILT policy to facilitate the relocation of polluting industries from Hyderabad, offering support and incentives for eligible businesses.
Stating that Telangana contributes around 5% of India’s GDP, the Chief Minister said the state aimed to increase its share to 10%. He also stressed policy continuity and investor confidence, urging businesses to partner with the government in realising the Telangana Rising 2047 vision.
