CM Revanth plans to make ‘T-Square’ a Telangana icon

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to develop the proposed “T-Square” as a landmark that reflects the identity of the state. Drawing inspiration from New York’s Times Square, the project aims to become a vibrant hub for business, entertainment, and tourism, while also serving corporate needs.

During a review meeting with IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu and senior officials, the Chief Minister said the project should attract both locals and international visitors, making it one of Hyderabad’s most iconic destinations. He also suggested that global brands like Apple be encouraged to set up outlets at T-Square.

The CM instructed officials to begin construction near Raidurg by the end of November, emphasizing that the area should feature a “Utility Zone” to ensure round-the-clock activity. The goal, he said, is to design T-Square as a lively, modern space that operates 24/7 and symbolizes Hyderabad’s growing global presence.

AI innovation hub in Hyderabad

Alongside the T-Square project, the Chief Minister also reviewed plans to establish an AI innovation hub in the city. The proposed hub will act as a single platform bringing together AI startups, research institutions, and centers of excellence from across Telangana. It will also facilitate partnerships with global tech companies and international AI hubs.

Revanth Reddy noted that the Telangana government has been actively promoting AI initiatives since 2024, including the Global AI Summit (September 2024), the AI City Project Plan, and the Telangana AI Rising Grand Challenge. The state also launched India’s first state-level Digital Public Infrastructure - the Telangana Data Exchange.

He further stated that AI skill development is a key government priority, and efforts are underway to establish a dedicated AI University to help students and professionals strengthen their expertise in artificial intelligence.
