CM Revanth meets Sringeri Sharada Peeth seer in Hyd

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited the Shankar Math in Nallakunta, Hyderabad, on Tuesday. During his visit, he offered special prayers to Lord Ganesha, Goddess Sharadamba, Lord Chandramouleeswara, and Adi Shankaracharya at the temple located within the Math.

After completing the rituals, the Chief Minister met Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Teertha Mahaswamiji, the head of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, who is currently staying at the Math as part of his Dharma Vijay Yatra (spiritual tour).

Spiritual interaction

CM Revanth Reddy extended a warm welcome to the Jagadguru and discussed various religious and temple development initiatives in Telangana. The meeting reflected the government’s commitment to preserving spiritual traditions and promoting temple infrastructure in the state.

Focus on Vemulawada temple development

During the interaction, the Chief Minister briefed the Swamiji on the state government’s ongoing development works at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada (Rajanna Sircilla district).

He highlighted that the government has already sanctioned ₹76 crore for the first phase of the temple’s development project, and an additional ₹127.65 crore was released in November 2024. Officials estimate that the total project cost may reach around ₹330 crore, with funds being released in phases as the works progress.

Government Whip Aadi Srinivas accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.

The Chief Minister’s courtesy call on the Sringeri Jagadguru and the discussion on temple development projects stood out as the key highlights of the visit — symbolizing the Telangana government’s emphasis on preserving heritage and promoting religious tourism across the state.
