Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed the municipal and police departments to work in close coordination to ensure that Ganesh festivities and immersion processions in Hyderabad conclude peacefully.

Reviewing preparations for the celebrations at the Legislative Assembly on Saturday, the Chief Minister called for the appointment of special officers to oversee the arrangements and directed officials to establish a dedicated control room at the Command Control Centre for real-time monitoring.

Revanth Reddy said maintaining peace and public order in Hyderabad was crucial for the city's growth and its ability to attract investments. He stressed that adequate precautions should be taken to prevent any disruption to law and order during the festivities.

The Chief Minister said he had convened the review meeting to understand the issues being faced by Ganesh festival organisers and ensure timely solutions. He also pointed out that free electricity is being provided to Ganesh pandals, and asked organisers to apply to the concerned authorities to avail themselves of the facility.

He directed organisers to submit details of their pandals to the police in advance to help authorities plan security and traffic arrangements. He also asked organisers to inform the local police commissionerate if prominent personalities are invited to their pandals so that necessary security measures can be put in place beforehand.

On immersion arrangements, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to make special provisions at water bodies in line with the facilities provided for Bathukamma celebrations. He stressed the need to ensure that the immersion process moves smoothly and quickly, and directed authorities to deploy adequate cranes around the lakes and other immersion points.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Azharuddin, MP Vem Narender Reddy, city public representatives, commissioners of the GHMC, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, HYDRAA Commissioner and other senior police officials, besides representatives of Ganesh festival committees.
