CM Revanth announces Adilabad airport completion within a year, airbus services to begin

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the newly approved airport in Adilabad will be completed within a year, and Airbus services will commence from the facility. Speaking at a public meeting in Adilabad, he said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Civil Aviation Minister G. K. Rammohan Naidu have already pledged financial and logistical support for the airport project.

The Chief Minister emphasized his commitment to the overall development of the underdeveloped Adilabad district and the completion of the Korata Canal project. He also revealed plans to establish a new university in the district, which will be named either Indravelli or Komaram Bheem University. As part of district development, he said, initiatives will be taken to strengthen water supply, education, and communication infrastructure.

Addressing the upcoming local panchayat elections, the Chief Minister urged people to elect capable individuals as sarpanches without spending money on campaigns. He assured that funds would be provided to support village development.

Revanth criticized the previous government for neglecting Adilabad and highlighted that the people gave a strong mandate to his party to ensure effective governance. He stressed that his focus is on state development and the welfare of all communities rather than political rhetoric, adding that he has not taken a single day off in the past two years.

Reflecting on his political journey, the Chief Minister said he had the opportunity to serve as ZPTC, MLC, MP, and now CM at a young age and is working hard to earn public trust. He also criticized former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao for restricting opposition leaders during Assembly proceedings.

Revanth further condemned the handling of key irrigation projects under the previous administration. He criticized the delay in the Pranahitha-Chevella project and the mismanagement of the Kaleshwaram project, alleging corruption by KCR’s family. The Chief Minister said the government plans to construct a 150-meter high barrage at Tummidihatti, with tenders already issued, to improve water supply in Adilabad. He called for cooperation from the Maharashtra government to expedite approvals.

Highlighting Telangana’s progress on a national platform, Revanth mentioned the upcoming Global Summit in Future City on December 8-9 and said he has invited the Prime Minister, central ministers, and prominent leaders, including Sonia Gandhi and the Gandhi family, to participate. He stressed the importance of coordination between the central and state governments to achieve welfare and development goals.

Recalling his recent initiatives, Revanth noted that after becoming TPCC president, he visited Nirmal and conducted a Dalit-Girijan Dandora program in Indravelli. He also declared the Indravelli Amaraveer Memorial as a tourist site and allocated Indiramma houses to the families of martyrs. Additionally, he promised to revive a private cement company previously under the Cement Corporation of India by attracting private investors.
