CM Revanth announces ₹5 lakh aid for cyclone victims

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy personally visited several regions severely affected by the recent Montha cyclone and the resulting floods. To assess the extent of the damage, the Chief Minister first conducted an aerial survey before arriving in Hanumakonda for a ground-level inspection.

During his visit to Sammayya Nagar, Kapuwada, and Pothana Nagar, the Chief Minister interacted directly with flood-affected residents. Listening to their concerns, he assured them that the state government would extend all possible assistance. He noted that nearly 4.47 lakh acres of farmland were submerged and promised swift rehabilitation measures for affected families.

CM Revanth Reddy inspected damaged roads, culverts, and drainage channels, directing officials to begin reconstruction work immediately. Emphasizing public health, he instructed authorities to launch sanitation drives in flood-hit areas without delay, including fogging operations, garbage removal, and drainage cleanup.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were Ministers Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Konda Surekha, and Ponnam Prabhakar, along with MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and district collectors from Hanumakonda and Warangal, as well as senior officials from various departments.

During his visit, CM Revanth Reddy announced that the government would provide ₹5 lakh ex-gratia to the families of those who lost their lives due to the cyclone. He reiterated that the state stands firmly with all affected citizens.

For farmers whose crops were damaged, the Chief Minister promised a compensation of ₹10,000 per acre, which will be credited directly to their bank accounts. Families whose houses were damaged will receive ₹15,000 in financial aid for immediate repairs.

The Chief Minister assured that rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts will be treated as a top priority, directing officials to ensure quick disbursal of relief funds and rapid implementation of recovery programs.
