CM Relief Fund Provides ₹10.42 Crore Aid to 1,150 Families in Atmakur
The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) is providing crucial financial support to poor families struggling to meet the cost of expensive medical treatments, State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said. He said the NDA coalition government was giving priority to public health and standing by families facing financial distress due to mounting medical expenses. The minister made these remarks while distributing CMRF cheques to beneficiaries at a programme organised at the Abhayanjaneyaswamy Temple premises in Atmakur on Tuesday, in the presence of local leaders and public representatives.
Ramanarayana Reddy said the government had extended financial assistance of ₹10,42,08,879 to 1,150 families across the Atmakur Assembly constituency over the past two years. The support has helped families facing financial difficulties while arranging treatment for their loved ones, he said.
In the latest round of assistance, 69 additional families have been sanctioned cheques worth ₹63,79,000 through the Chief Minister’s Office. The minister distributed the approved financial assistance to the beneficiaries, reiterating the government's commitment to helping economically weaker sections access healthcare.
The minister observed that a medical emergency can push poor households into severe financial distress, particularly when treatment involves substantial expenditure. Families unable to meet hospital bills often resort to borrowing money, adding to their existing economic difficulties.
In this context, the CMRF serves as a financial safety net for eligible families who need assistance to meet medical expenses. Such support can ease the burden on households and help patients obtain the treatment they require, he said.
The government was making efforts to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive timely financial assistance, Ramanarayana Reddy added. He stressed that financial hardship should not prevent poor families from seeking necessary medical care.
The minister also urged beneficiaries to use the assistance judiciously and obtain appropriate treatment. He said the government was committed to extending support to vulnerable families facing healthcare-related financial challenges.
The latest distribution takes the total assistance provided in the Atmakur constituency over the past two years to more than ₹10.42 crore, covering 1,150 families, with another 69 households receiving support in the latest round.
