CM Naidu Inaugurates ₹100 Crore Maternal and Child Health Facility in Guntur

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the advanced Maternal and Child Care Center at Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH), a project built at an estimated cost of ₹100 crore . Addressing the gathering, he lauded the efforts of Guntur Medical College alumni , who, despite moving abroad decades ago, contributed generously to fund the facility, reflecting enduring human values and commitment to society.

Highlighting cultural values, Naidu noted that while children in countries like the U.S. become independent by 18 , in India, parents guide their children throughout life, and a strong society is essential for collective growth.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged donors supporting public hospitals across the state , including ₹16 crore for Millennium Block in Guntur , ₹60 crore for Visakhapatnam , and significant contributions for Kakinada and Kurnool hospitals . He emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in development, citing previous initiatives like ‘Janmabhoomi’ and the current P4 strategy . Naidu also expressed confidence in transforming Amaravati into a ‘Quantum Valley’ , leveraging the AI era , following earlier IT promotion efforts.

On future medical innovations, Naidu revealed plans to launch ‘Drone Ambulance’ services by 2026 and implement the ‘Sanjeevani’ project statewide, a digital health initiative aimed at maintaining patient records and ensuring better treatment. He assured that government hospitals would provide corporate-level facilities, addressing the rising costs of private healthcare. He further stated that Guntur, Vijayawada, and Mangalagiri would soon merge to achieve remarkable development while focusing on pollution-free energy.

The newly inaugurated five-storey building spans 2.69 lakh sq. ft. and accommodates 600 beds, including 300 for maternity and 200 for pediatrics, along with state-of-the-art neonatal and pediatric ICUs. Contributions from donors such as Dr. Gavini Umadevi (₹22 crore) and Nalini-Venkata Tellis (₹8 crore) , alongside ₹27 crore allocated by the government for equipment and furniture, made this project possible. The CM urged everyone to prioritize community service over monetary gain and contribute toward the welfare of the underprivileged.

Meanwhile, Naidu commenced a three-day development and welfare tour of his constituency, Kuppam , focusing on infrastructure expansion and employment generation . During the visit, seven MoUs are expected to be signed with companies, bringing investments of over ₹675 crore and creating extensive job opportunities for local youth.

The Chief Minister will also inaugurate educational institutions such as the Agastya Vidyachal Academy (₹3 crore) in Gudipalli and lay the foundation for the Learners Academy (₹10 crore) , enhancing rural students’ access to modern education.

In tourism development, Naidu will lay the foundation for the Oberoi Visitors Center, launch the Swarn Navadisha Co-Working Space and the Aditya Birla Multi-Skill Development Center, dedicate the Kangundi Heritage Village Bouldering Park, and unveil the ‘Discover Kuppam’ website. Additionally, he will commence ₹4 crore tourism development works and inaugurate Punnami Resort.
