CM inaugurates TVS credit technology hub in Assam
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday inaugurated the TVS Credit Technology Centre in Guwahati, marking a significant step under the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative and following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the state government and TVS Credit in February 2025.
The newly inaugurated centre aligns with the Assam government’s vision of building a strong digital ecosystem while skilling local youth in line with the demands of the digital era. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the centre would play an important role in strengthening technology capabilities in Assam and across the North-Eastern region.
A Credit Technology Centre is a specialised technology hub set up by a financial services company to design, build and manage digital systems used in lending and credit operations. In simple terms, it functions as the technology backbone of a credit company, supporting critical processes such as loan origination, loan management, digital collections and data-driven decision-making.
Designed as a crucial hub for TVS Credit, the Guwahati centre will focus on artificial intelligence, automation and smarter digital workflows. It is expected to enable more than 200 youth in the state to acquire specialised technology skills and contribute to national-scale digital transformation initiatives.
The Chief Minister said the centre will handle several key technology functions of TVS Credit from Assam, ranging from next-generation tech-driven collection systems and advanced AI models to loan origination platforms, loan management systems and intelligent automation.
Under Phase I, TVS Credit has initiated the hiring of 25 technology professionals, with 21 already onboard. These professionals are undergoing training and are engaged in high-end digital projects with the potential to serve customers across India.
Over the next three years, TVS Credit plans to scale the Guwahati centre to more than 200 highly skilled technology roles, creating sustainable, high-value employment opportunities for Assam’s youth. The initiative is also expected to help retain local talent by offering advanced technology careers within the state.
Thanking TVS Credit for establishing the centre in Guwahati, the Chief Minister said the move would strengthen collaboration between the company and the state, while further positioning Assam on the national technology landscape.
