CM Chandrababu Sets ₹2,000-Crore Monthly Target for Amaravati Works
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials and construction agencies to accelerate development works in Amaravati, setting a target of executing projects worth at least ₹2,000 crore every month. He called for a focused approach to ensure that ongoing projects progress without delays while maintaining construction quality.
Naidu held a monthly review meeting on the capital’s development works with senior officials and representatives of contracting agencies at his camp office. Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana informed him that 152 projects were currently being taken up across the capital region, with around 41,000 workers engaged in various construction activities.
Officials said works worth ₹1,345 crore had been completed during the previous month. The Chief Minister directed the agencies to increase the pace of execution and raise the monthly value of completed works to ₹2,000 crore. He stressed that faster execution should not come at the expense of quality and warned against any negligence in the implementation of capital projects.
Naidu also called for efforts to fast-track the Outer Ring Road project, asking officials to coordinate closely with the Central government to resolve pending issues and move the project forward. He said the capital’s infrastructure should be developed keeping its long-term requirements and future growth in mind.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to give particular attention to iconic buildings, including the Secretariat towers and the Assembly building, and ensure that their construction does not suffer delays. He also emphasised the need to strengthen the skills of workers in the construction sector by providing modern training on the lines of the National Academy of Construction.
Meanwhile, Naidu congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years in public life. In a post on X, he described Modi as the right leader for India at the right time and said the country was moving towards the Viksit Bharat @2047 goal.
Naidu said Andhra Pradesh was witnessing faster development in infrastructure and investment with support from the Centre. He expressed confidence in building a strong India and prosperous Swarnandhra Pradesh under Modi’s leadership and wished the Prime Minister continued success.
Separately, special prayers were held at the Sri Kanaka Durga Temple on Vijayawada’s Indrakeeladri on Wednesday to mark Modi’s 25 years in public life. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh.
