CM Chandrababu Naidu Mourns Death of Rajamahendravaram Medical Student Priyanka

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep anguish over the death of Priyanka, a postgraduate medical student who died after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident in Rajamahendravaram.

Naidu described the death as deeply tragic, noting that Priyanka had a promising future in the medical profession. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to her family and assured them that the state government would stand by them during this difficult period.

The accident took place on Thursday near a shopping mall in Rajamahendravaram. Priyanka and fellow postgraduate medical student Umesh were travelling on a two-wheeler when a car allegedly hit them and fled the spot without stopping.

Priyanka suffered severe head injuries in the collision. She was shifted to KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad for treatment, but despite medical efforts, she died at around 3:40 pm on Sunday. Umesh escaped with minor injuries.

The Chief Minister said the accident was allegedly caused by the negligence of youths who were driving under the influence of alcohol. He strongly condemned the conduct that led to the loss of an innocent young life and said such negligence would not be tolerated.

Naidu said police had already arrested the accused and sent them to jail in connection with the incident. He directed senior police officials to ensure stringent action against those responsible.

The government would take all necessary steps to ensure that the accused face punishment under strict provisions of the law, he said.

Naidu extended his deepest sympathies to Priyanka’s family and assured them that the government would provide all possible support to help them through the tragedy.
