Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi, where the two leaders discussed matters concerning the state and its development. Chandrababu also congratulated Modi on completing 25 years in public life, appreciating his long service to the country.
During the meeting, Chandrababu acknowledged Modi’s leadership journey from serving as a Chief Minister to becoming Prime Minister, describing his approach to governance as marked by discipline, commitment and a clear vision. He said Modi had consistently worked towards setting long-term goals for the country and taking decisive steps to achieve them.
Chandrababu highlighted what he described as Modi’s focus on strengthening India’s position on the global stage through effective governance and development-oriented policies. He also referred to the emphasis on welfare, development and good governance, stating that these efforts were contributing to the broader vision of building a Viksit Bharat.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for Chandrababu to raise several issues related to Andhra Pradesh’s development with the Prime Minister. According to information available on the discussions, the Chief Minister sought greater support from the Centre for key projects and sectors that have a direct bearing on the state’s economic and infrastructure growth.
Among the issues reportedly raised was the need for central funding for the Godavari Pushkarams. Chandrababu is also understood to have urged the Centre to pursue the interlinking of southern rivers, a proposal that could have implications for water management and irrigation across the region.
The Chief Minister further brought up the state’s financial position, along with issues concerning agriculture and irrigation. He sought continued central assistance for these sectors and requested support for several important projects being undertaken in Andhra Pradesh.
The meeting assumes significance as the state government continues to seek greater cooperation from the Centre for infrastructure, irrigation and development initiatives. The discussions covered both broader national priorities and specific requirements of Andhra Pradesh, with Chandrababu presenting the state’s concerns and seeking central support for its development agenda.
